On April 7, 2013 Elvert Morgan was called home. He was born February 18, 1922 in Kenston, North Carolina.

Elvert Morgan is joined in heaven with his parents Tom and Relina (Sis), one daughter, Rosemary Morgan, two sisters, Janie Browns and Maylois (Mary) Staten and one brother, Ned Staten (Boots).

In 1941 Elvert Morgan and Janie (Leath) Morgan joined in marriage.

In 1942 Elvert Morgan joined the Military. He served his tower and received three medals, Victory WWW II, European Africa Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and American Campaign Medal. He received an honorable discharge. His Company was 654th Quartermaster Truck Company. He was a Marks Man and also a POW (A Prisoner of War).

Granddad then started his business in Construction. He enjoyed playing chest, watching western movies, flap jacks, biscuits and molasses syrup, shrimp, fish and hot dogs.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Janie Morgan; one son, Edward Gene Morgan; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Morgan; four grandchildren, Edie Morgan of Saginaw, MI, Brian Morgan of Atlanta, GA, Elverett Morgan of Atlanta, GA and Alterick Morgan of Irvington, NJ; granddaughter-in-law, Sherry Morgan of Irvington, NJ; eleven great grandchildren, Sade Morgan, Mercedes Lewis, Angel Dennis, Jetta Morgan, Brian Morgan Jr., Cameron Morgan, James Dennard, Shaheed Hall, Saladine Hall and Robert Hall; four great great grandchildren, Christina Garcia, Nia Garcia, Robin Garcia and Amihay Mitchell; special sister and friend, Lillian Davis; caregiver, Fred Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.
