Pela Seward, 68, of Bunker Hill Drive in Londonderry, a loving Mother, Sister and Friend, took her leave from us amongst the faithful in Christ Jesus on Wednesday morning, February 3, 2010, after a period of declining health.
Born in Palmer Springs, Virginia on August 15, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Betty Seward.
A resident of Londonderry for the past 7½ years, Pela grew up in Virginia and was a graduate of East End High School. She later moved to Irvington, New Jersey in the early 1970s where she made her home for 29 years.
Pela was employed as cottage supervisor at the Woodbridge State School in New Jersey for twenty years.
Pela's many hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, picture puzzles and photography. She enjoyed traveling and her other interests included learning Spanish, teaching, promoting strong educational and family values.
Pela will always be remembered as a devoted, hardworking mother who was always there to support her family and friends.
Her church families at New Fellowship Baptist Church in Nashua, NH and The SAINTS in NJ wish her a blessed eternal rest.
Diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in August of 2008, Our Mom lived her life to the fullest until she could do no more. Her courage and hope inspires us that we too will be able to endure all things until the end. We'll see you when we get there.
Members of her family include her son, Calvin Wendell Seward and his wife, Christine Caines of Brownsmills, NJ; her daughters, Bobbie Denise Bagley and husband, Keith Sterling Bagley of Londonderry, NH and Patrina Rivera and husband, Rafael Rivera of Nashua; also eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Bullock and Ellen Johnson; and her brother Richard Seward all of Boydton, VA; also 10 nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
