After a long illness Roosevelt "Bay" Walker entered into eternal rest on the evening of March 3, 2010 (one day after his 63rd birthday).

Roosevelt Walker affectionately known by his family and friends as "Bay" was born on March 2, 1947 in Keysville, Georgia to the late Ed Walker Jr. and the late Maggie Coley Walker.

He was educated in the Burke County School's. After attending the Waynesboro High School and Industrial School in Waynesboro, Georgia, he joined his brothers in Newark, NJ which became his home.

On May 7, 1993 Roosevelt married, Dorothy Johnson. He was a faithful member of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark since January 3, 1999 until his illness.

He was employed with the Newark Public School system for many years. A soft spoken and gentle man who loved his family and let them know it in words as well as deeds. He was hard working and providing for his family was very important to him.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Walker Harvey and two brothers, John Willie Walker and Bobby Gene Walker.

Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Dorothy Walker; one daughter, Valisha L. Johnson; one son, Darryl Johnson; one daughter-in-law, Ronell; six grandchildren, Demond, Dasia and Darell Johnson, Dorkisha Jones, Markquies and Angelic Washington; two great grandchildren; one sister-in-law;one brother-in-law; four brothers, Clarence Walker (Marie), Ernest Walker (Mary Alice), Marion Walker and Ray Charles Walker; four sisters, Mildred Fryer, Shirley Walker, Sandra Walker and Linda Wright; one uncle, John Willie Walker; one aunt, Fannie Walker; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
